The village and municipality of L’Alfàs del Pi are part of the province Alicante. The village is situated on the so-called Costa Blanca, not far from the Mediterranean Sea. Although this tranquil village is not specifically known for its tourism, it does have one of the highest rates of European immigrants. Especially Norwegians, British and Dutch, massively left to enjoy the sun in the 1970s.
The Costa Blanca obviously is the ultimate destination for lovers of the sun, the sea, and the beach. The various coastal villages in the area all have their own Spanish charm with vast (pebble) beaches, boulevards and terraces. Not far from L’Alfàs del Pi, you can find popular coastal resorts as Albir and Altea. Calpe, famous for its rock in the sea, the “Penyal d’Ifac”, its fishing harbour, fish market, and many fish restaurants is located at the northside of L’Alfàs del Pi.
Looking for a bit more vibrancy? The big bathing resort Benidorm can be reached by car in less than fifteen minutes. The clean and safe beaches here have been awarded many times. Except sun bathing, you can also enjoy many (water) sports activities such as volleyball, beach football, or water-skiing (provided by the cableway ski installation of the water-ski school).
Had enough of all the sand between your toes? There is always something else to do in this beautiful environment. The vast mountain area located at the westside of L’Alfas, in the direction of Spain’s inland, encloses the entire region and is great for walking, cycling and hiking purposes.
There are plenty of opportunities to entertain the entire family such as the multiple theme parks and water parks in and around Benidorm. Sporty people will have a fantastic time in “Parque de Foietes” where they can participate in various ball sports, run a lap or two at the athletics track or go for a swim in the pool with Olympic sizes. Benidorm will offer both the young and the old a great time, also until the wee hours.
A weekly market can be found in the village on Fridays. The market offers a great variety of gadgets, fresh fruit and vegetables. The surroundings of L’Alfàs del Pi offer many great sites like “El Castell de Guadalest” (the castle of Guadalest) located at the northwester side of the village. The castle does not only give an insight into the old ways of life, it also offers a stunning view. Besides this, coastal town Altea is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful towns of the region. A beautiful church called “Nuestra Señora del Consuelo” can be found in the village centre. The square located in front of the church a fantastic view over the town and its white houses.
L’Alfàs del Pi has a big supermarket, a pharmacy, bakery, bike rental shop and a large offer of shops, restaurants and terraces. There is a large offer of cafés, from Dutch bar to British pub, which show the diversity of nationalities.
